Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Features and Release Date

Samsung’s next annual flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 series, will officially debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22 next year. Today, South Korean media have brought a complete leak of the Galaxy S25 series. All models will adopt Qualcomm processors, double the storage capacity, and bring new functions similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. The report points out that the designs of the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra will be more unified.

All of them feature rounded corners. The screen sizes are 6.16 inches, 6.66 inches, and 6.86 inches respectively, remaining the same as the previous generation. In terms of camera configuration, the S25 Ultra will exclusively feature a 200-megapixel wide-angle main camera. The ultra-wide-angle camera will increase from 12 million pixels to 50 million pixels. There will also be a 10-million-pixel 3x telephoto lens and a 50-million-pixel 5x telephoto lens.

The renderings show that the standard version of the S25 and S25 Plus maintain a combination of a 50-million-pixel main camera, a 12-million-pixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-million-pixel telephoto lens. The front cameras of all three models are 12 million pixels. Samsung will globally use the full-blooded Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chip this year and no longer provide Exynos models.

The minimum configuration is 12GB of memory, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra will increase to 16GB. The storage space starts from 256GB, and the 128GB model is cancelled. The battery capacities are 4000mAh, 4900mAh, and 5000mAh respectively. All support 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

With the full transition to Qualcomm chips and the improvement of specifications, a price increase seems inevitable. The specific price may vary by country. According to data leaked by European retailers, the starting price of the Galaxy S25 remains at 899 euros (about 6818 yuan). In addition, Samsung One UI 7 will also launch a new Now Bar function, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. It can display the instant progress of apps, such as timers, recordings, music playback, instant translation, or sports information. The Bixby assistant will be upgraded and gain more permissions to control apps.
